Congratulations to recent MA graduates Wade Tidwell and Dillon Patterson who just swept the UA Master’s Research Awards!

Wade Tidwell, who last semester earned the College of Arts & Sciences Outstanding Thesis award, has now won the University of Alabama Outstanding Thesis Award. There is only a single award given across all of UA. Wade’s thesis is entitled “Archaeological Investigations of Magnetic Anomalies in the Northern Settlement Area at Actuncan, Belize, and his advisor was Lisa LeCount.

Dillon Patterson, who last semester earned the College of Arts & Sciences Outstanding Research by a Masters Student award, has now won the University of Alabama Outstanding Research by a Master Student Award. Likewise, only one of these is awarded across the entire university. Dillon’s thesis research concerning grassroots psychiatry in Mexico led to an award winning conference presentation, “Ibogaine is not a Drug: Rejecting the Pharmaceutical Industry’s Claim on “Our” Bodies.” Chris Lynn was his advisor.
