Bio

I earned my Master’s Degree from the University of Alabama in 2019, where I worked with Dr. William Dressler exploring cultural models of retirement. My thesis research explored cultural consonance as revealed through self-narrative. I found that there is a correlation between how individuals construct past liminal events and health. The technique of exploring cultural consonance in self-narratives (CCIN) show the relationship between the individual and the cultural model. CCIN also indicates elements of the cultural model that are active and salient in the mind of the individual. I am interested in theories of Self, memory, nostalgia, narrative, aging, psychology, psychological anthropology, and cognitive anthropology.
