Dr. Lee Drake on X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry

On March 9 (starting at 9:00am) and 10 Dr. Lee Drake, an archaeologist and application scientist, from Bruker Elemental will be at the University of Alabama to conduct a two day workshop on the background science and use of the new Tracer-IIISD handheld x-ray fluorescence spectrometer (pXRF). This workshop will provide a basic introduction to x-ray physics, cover issues in analytical settings, parameters, and calibration, as well as provide lots of hands-on opportunities to work with the instrument and the software.
Invited is anyone interested to attend this workshop, particularly if you’re interested in using this instrument and technique in your own research. If you aren’t able to attend the entire workshop feel free to come and go as fits your schedule.
