“Andrews Place (1MB1): A Late Woodland-Mississippian Shell Midden on the Alabama Gulf Coast” by Dr. Blitz and Grace Riehm

Congratulations to Dr. Blitz and his M.A. student Grace Riehm for producing the  soon-to-be-released volume, Andrews Place (1MB1): A Late Woodland-Mississippian Shell Midden on the Alabama Gulf Coast. The book will be coming out as the next issue of the Journal of Alabama Archaeology. This is the journal of record for the state’s archaeological research and has been in continuous publication for over 60 years. Note that nine of the authors are undergraduates—the Department of Anthropology is committed to introducing undergraduates to the research process, and Dr. Blitz has demonstrated through this publication just how, with guidance, undergraduates can contribute directly to scholarly knowledge as authors of their own work. Great stuff!
