Rebecca Lester Talk

On Thursday, February 16, Dr. Rebecca Lester will give a talk entitled “‘Fat is Not a Feeling: Eating Disorders, Affective Practice and Cultures of Scarcity.” The talk will be from 3:30-5:00 in ten Hoor 257.
Dr. Lester is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis, as well as a psychotherapist and the founder of The Foundation for Applied Psychiatric Anthropology. The talk is based on her book project, which synthesizes her work on the critical medical anthropology of eating disorders. The topic will specifically cover eating disorders, managed care, and affect/practice.
