Prestigious Honor for Dr. Chiou

Dr. Katie Chiou, the Department’s new Assistant Professor, has learned that her dissertation at UC Berkeley, “Common Meals, Noble Feasts: An Archaeological Investigation of Moche Food and Cuisine in the Jequetepeque Valley, Peru (A.D. 600-800)” (Christine A. Hastorf, Chair) has been selected as the the 2018 Society for American Archaeology’s Dissertation Award. This is an incredible and most prestigious honor. Excellent news Katie!
