Bio

Patricia Mathu is passionate about how archaeology can inform understandings of food systems and climate change. While pursuing her BA in history, she started a regenerative farm with friends in Illinois and worked for multiple organizations transforming US agriculture. Guided by thoughtful mentors, she has a keen interest in agroecology, domestication, paleobotany, and Midwestern landscapes. She was recently awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and is excited to seize all the opportunities Alabama has to offer.
