DeJarnette Scholarship deadline

January 15, 2016

The David and Elizabeth DeJarnette Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually by the Department of Anthropology. As per the eclectic interests of David L. DeJarnette, priority of consideration is given to graduate students who are conducting archaeological research at Moundville Archaeological Park, the southeastern United States more generally, or in Latin America. The awardees (generally one, but occasionally two) are chosen by a standing scholarship committee. Applications are due to the Chair of Anthropology by January 15, 2016. The application consists of the application form, which is attached to this message, a statement describing your thesis or dissertation research project (typically three pages or less), and a current CV. The value of the scholarship this year is expected to range between $4,000 and $5,000 and it can supplement other funding. Recipients will be announced publicly at the annual DeJarnette Barbecue, which will be held at Moundville Archaeological Park on the Saturday of Honors Week, April 9, 2016.
