Declaring a Minor in Anthropology

There are no pre-requisites for admission to minor. Students are expected to formally declare a minor with the assistance of the undergraduate advisor, Dr. Cameron Lacquement (ten Hoor 24C; email: clacquement@as.ua.edu). Students should complete the “Declaration of Minor” form before or during the third year of full-time enrollment.

Grade Point Average

A 2.0 grade point average in the minor is required.  The minor GPA is calculated based on all courses applicable to the major that the student has attempted at UA and all work attempted applicable to the minor throughout the entire higher education career.

Courses Required in the Minor

The requirements for the minor in anthropology are eighteen (18) hours of anthropology courses including the following:

ANT 100, 102, 107, 210 or 270

6 Hrs.

ANT 100-level elective or higher

6 Hrs.

ANT 300-level elective or higher

6 Hrs.

Total

18 Hrs.
