The Anthropology Department lost one of its founding figures. Margaret Searcy passed on Saturday, May 27. Margaret was our department’s first M.A. recipient, and for many years in the 70s and 80s she taught most of our introductory classes, including North American Indians, the course that was truly her favorite. She has been retired for many years now, but her presence remains in our department.
