Graduate Students Receive Prestigious Fellowships

Three of our graduate students were nominated and received the following fellowships for the 2018-2019 academic year:

Congratulations to Ashley Stewart, and adviser Keith Jacobi, for a PhD dissertation completion Graduate Council Fellowship award for her work using dental traits to chart genetic relations among individuals at the Archaic and Mississippian Perry Site in Northern Alabama.

Congratulations to Cayla Colclasure, and her adviser Elliot Blair, for an MA thesis completion Graduate Council Fellowship award for her work examining changing foodways of native peoples during a 17th century period of Spanish missionization along the Georgia coast.

Congratulations to Kareen Hawsey, and her adviser Ian Brown, for the National Alumni Association award for her work investigating the make-up and interaction of prehistoric Woodland cultures in the State of Alabama.
