Anthropology Scholarship Winners for 2017-2018

It is with great pleasure that we announce the various Anthropology scholarships for 2017-18. There were many wonderful applications this year, thus making the various committee deliberations a most difficult task. Nevertheless, they did come up with a number of very worthy recipients.

Ashley Stewart is the winner of the DeJarnette Scholarship ($8,000).

For the Maxwell Scholarship there are two winners, Lessye deMoss ($2,500) and Nikki Henderson ($4,500). The committee also wished to include Monika Wanis for Honorable Mention.

The Knight Scholarship unfortunately was not awarded this year.

Next year all of the above scholarships plus the Milady Murphy Scholarship will be offered, so as to continue to enrich the research endeavors of our Graduate students.

And the Undergraduates have not been forgotten. This year the C. Earle Smith award for the graduating senior in our department with the highest grade point average goes to Hannah Smith ($500) and the Hughes Prize goes to Jonathan Wade Tidwell ($1,500).

Congratulations to all our Scholarship and Prize winners! You represent us well indeed.
